    2. prince gurung, sure. He’ll keep sounding like an idiot though. What’s the alternative to his literal wishing? Metaphorical or hypothetical wishing? Literally no one would have thought that. (Notice my fitting use of “literally” where a hyperbolic (not literal) use of “no one” could have easily applied.)

    1. Yeah I’d agree. If you pick fruit that is too low hanging it can backfire in your face. If a person is using logical fallacies as their arguments they need to be at the very least smart enough to know what a logical fallacy is and adjust their behavior when their errors are pointed out to them. If not you will get a circular conversation like we’ve seen in many of the debates where the carnist is unwilling to concede. I just watched a few of this guys videos and he’s definitely not the intellectual type. At the very least they must first google logical fallacy and commit a few to memory and provide evidence that they know what a logical fallacy is before debating. If not the debate will devolve fast. In a good debate a logical fallacy could be pointed out and save 2 hours of nonsensical bullshit which is incredibly painful for the audience.

      NO…did you even read the study?? It’s comparing two bad diets.
      All it shows it that saturated fat in the blood does not go up when increasing dietary saturated fat. OK… what about LDL cholesterol and risk for heart disease? Of course they didn’t measure that b/c it would have went up, which there’s already plenty evidence of.

      “The researchers found that as the amount of dietary fat was decreased, there were no changes in the levels of saturated fat in the participants’ blood. But one kind of fatty acid, called palmitoleic acid, did progressively increase.”

      “Higher proportions of palmitoleic acid in blood or adipose tissue are consistently associated with a myriad of undesirable outcomes, such as obesity, …inflammation, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, coronary disease, heart failure, and incidence and aggressiveness of prostate cancer,” the researchers wrote.

    1. Nah, he called the dairy industry out in an earlier episode about nutrition and debunked the myth that milk is good for you. He wasn’t even claiming that meat and dairy were great sources of fat, just not to eat foods that are marketed as low-fat (which are majority sweets and dairy products like yogurt and cheese anyway) because they are processed and overloaded in sugar/high fructose corn syrup.

  5. I feel sorry for people who think “Adam Ruins Everything” is an honest show. It should be titled “Adam’s Opinions on Everything”.

    1. Well actually, a large portion of his other episodes are pretty informative and clarify many myths and misinterpretations of society. For example did I know that the da beers industry purposefully restricts the diamond industry mining to superficially increase the price and supposed “rarity” of diamonds before I watched the show? Nope, we have this conception that Diamonds are actually worth something, yet they are incredibly common in Africa blood diamond mines. I do agree that this episode he made was uninformed and wrong; however I recommend actually watching his shows and looking up his references he puts in the show before claiming ALL of his episodes are uninformed and wrong.

    1. +Star Shot It’s sad that you need to make weak anecdotal claims. So, you’re saying there are plenty of old people who eat meat and live to an old age without suffering a heart attack? Let’s assume this is true and not even look into the authenticity of this claim. Firstly, these people have probably had cancer, or have cancer, prediabetes, or diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, dementia, alzheimer’s disease, etc. Whereas if you look at old living vegans, like Dr. Ellsworth Wareham who’s 102 years old. He functions perfectly, his memory is intact, he drives a car, mows his lawn, et cetera. Perhaps there are some meat eater like that as well. Making anecdotal claims, assserting that you know an old person who eats meat and hasn’t had a heart attack, isn’t good evidence for the notion that meat doesn’t raise your cholesterol levels / decrease lifespan. There are smokers who live to their 100s. Does that now mean that smoking is perfectly healthy, and only smoking outside of ‘moderation’ (a term you have not even defined) is unhealthy? Meat, dairy, and eggs are unhealthy. The more of it you eat, the worse. The less of it you eat, the better. That’s all there is to it. When you think of donuts, do you think that a ‘moderate’ amount of donuts is actually beneficial for your health? Or rather that it’s better than not consuming a dozen donuts a week? It’s the same thing when we talk about meat. It’s not healthy. There is no magical ‘moderate’ amount of donuts that is healthy. And, there is no magical ‘moderate’ amount of meat that is healthy.

    1. It’s only unimpressive because it took him over ten years to get to this point. For comparison, my one rep max (keep in mind this was mixed grip though) for a DL was 160kg, which I achieved in three months. That’s 352lbs. Granted, my deadlift has gone down due to uneven dieting, seeing as I used to eat shitloads of chicken, tagliatelle and vegetables, this happened when I was only 70kg. It’ll take me less than two years total training to top that 425lb lift.

    3. Josh Daly Richard’s had some serious problems with his knees so I think that’s an important factor in the slow progression in his powerlifting abilities.
