this was actually the worst one i've ever had with a combo of sudden high blood pressure a elevated heart rate and an extremely high Blood pressure…the shortness of breath was the worst i COULD NOT catch my breath *almost fainting* i rate this a 10 on the Anxiety scale of severity this was more of a Panic attack then Anxiety attack

      speaking as an ex-daily smoker, it will only make it worse. There are no
      miracle cures to anything.

      me it some times makes it alot worse

  1. i know how you feel, i get these every now and then, i get a sudden feeling
    like im going to die and because death is my biggest fear i start to psych
    myself out even more and then i just start crying. i used to get these from
    an ambulance driving by me on the road because of something that had
    happened that traumatized me for a good long week or so. i also will get
    them from drinking too much coffee, i wont stop drinking it though because
    its my favorite drink, i will just have to learn my limits which i think i
    already have. Anyways hang in there and know that your not alone and there
    are cures for this, you just need a change of diet, eating clean will help
    alot! if you eat junk you will feel like junk, its hard to do but if your
    really over having these attacks than i suggest it for a month and see how
    you do.

  3. I’m so sorry you deal with this, I have been in the Emergency room with
    these and my heart rate going to over 200 a minute. I completely understand
    everything your going through but the medicine helps so much! God be with
    you and anyone who deals with this! Zoloft helps big time. Also get your
    thyroid checked just in case. Also cbt therapy. These really are the
    scariest thing in the world! you NOT alone!!!

  4. Why does this happen? Is it only in the mind or are there actual biological
    functions at play here? I’m sorry for my ignorance, I’m just trying to
    understand this more.

    1. I guess it’s important to say that anxiety is a biochemical reaction just
      as well as it is emotional. All of a sudden, the brain starts to produce
      too much noradrenalin (which is the neurotransmitter responsible for making
      you fear something). Also, there is a decrease in the production of
      serotonin, which is a hormone that can stimulate muscular activity, such as
      for the muscles in the chest (that’s why it’s difficult to breathe and the
      chest hurts). As the attack evolves, the brain goes down a spiral (the
      person feels like they’re dying, so it’s scary as hell). It’s very
      difficult to control. Some peole tend to mock or think less of a person who
      suffers from anxiety or panic disorder, but they don’t actually have a clue
      on what is happening to the brain of an “anxious”, as I call us (yes, I
      also suffer from panic disorder).

  5. ugh this breaks my heart man. I am SO sorry- beyond sorry. I’ve only had
    one stress-induced panic attack and it was no where near as horrible as
    yours, nor as long. Bless your heart <3

  6. Adavan works most times but in the case of hyperventilating try a paper bag
    , that’s the only method I haven’t tried. As far as heart rate goes ,
    that’s a good thing if your bp and heart rate were down then you worry
    because the body does that to try and make you pass out to regulate
    everything.

  7. I so understand you my friend. I know what you are going threw I suffer
    panic attack just like you. everytime I feel that I am going die I could
    not breath, I have high blood pressure, my left arm hurt and become numb. I
    have a lots and lots of attack every weeks and these attacks starts from
    nothing just beeing in front of my computer. So I understand what you are
    going threw you are not alone I promise.
